The Poimandres thus bear the figure of the saviour that the people are awaiting: he is the Nous, the Supreme Mind, the Father who spontaneously decides to reveal himself to the people through his intermediary. So why should God feel this need to intervene in human history and stand before His creatures?

Because He loves man (Anthropos, the primordial man, the Adam of the Bible, made with His image and resemblance), the man who is guilty of a crime that makes him imperfect, the one who has become mortal in his body: this man is offered the opportunity of a new and definitive salvation.

He is to obey his shepherd’s “word” and so walk the way that will reunite him with his divine Father.

At this point, it is very interesting to have a look to the description that Poimandres makes of this God revealing to man.

In paragraph 5 we read the following statements:

• Tò phòs ekèino, egò Noùs o sòs theòs… (The light that I Mind your god… à that is the light, I that am the Mind am your god)

• ò de ek Noòs photeinòs Logos uiòs theù… (the from luminous Intellect Logos son of god… à the one [am I] from [the] luminous intellect of Logos, son of god)

• tò en soi blèpon kai akùon, logos kurìu, ò de Noùs patèr theòs… (what in you observing and seeing, Logos of God, the instead Mind father god… à what in you sees and observes is instead the Mind of god father, Logos of God)

In § 12 we read:

• ò dè pànton patèr o Noùs, on zoè kai phòs… (the of all [things] father the Mind being life and light… à Mind being life and light [is] the father of all [things]

In § 21:

• ek photòs kai zoès sunèsteken ò patèr tòn òlon… (of light and of life is made the father of all [things]… à the father of all [things] is made of light and of life)

In § 22 God says of himself:

• paraghìnomai egò ò Noùs tòis osìois kài agathòis kài katharòis kài eleèmosi, tòis eusebùsi… (am close to I [care for], the Intellect, the saints, the good, the pure ones, the merciful, the pious… à I, the Intellect, am close to [care for] the saints, the good, the pure, the merciful, the pious)

• e parousìa moù ghìnetai boètheia… (the presence mine is support… à my presence is support)

• ùk eàso tà prospìptonta energhèmata tù sòmatos ektelestènai… ([I] will not let the falling forces of the body reach the end… à I will not let the falling forces of the body reach the end)

In § 28 we find the call to conversion, also present in the Gospels, and it is interesting to note how this concept is a new idea to a world that did not conceive the possibility of achieving immortality through repentance:

• metanoèsate oi sunodeèusantes te plàne… (convert the [you] walking with [in] the error… à you walking in error [must] convert)

Paragraph 31 introduces the prayer addressed to God where, among other invocations, one also reads:

• àghios ò theòs kai patèr ton òlon… (Holy the God and Father of all [things ]… à Holy [is] the God and Father of all [things])

• ù e bulè telèitai apò ton idìon dunàmeon… (his will is done [is accomplished] by his powers… à his will is done [accomplished] by his powers)

Finally, § 32 defines the relationship between God and man, and clarifies the final purpose of this revelation to mankind:

• kai tes kàritos tàutes photìso tùs en àgnoia tù ghènus, mù adelphùs, uiùs dè sù… (and of grace this [I] will enlighten men of ignorance, my brothers, sons of you… à and of this grace [I] will enlighten men of ignorance, my brothers, your sons).

En Egipto, en la llanura de las pirámides de Guiza, en 1945 se descubrió una pirámide que contenía el cuerpo momificado de un individuo con unas características particulares: alto casi dos metros, con el cráneo alargado y ampliado posteriormente, órbitas oculares muy anchas, barbilla puntiaguda… es decir, ¡un esqueleto seguramente no humano!

Se define esta tumba “La tumba del Visitante” y su habitante vino convencionalmente llamado Osiris. El examen conducido con el sistema de Carbono 14 fechó el cuerpo en 10500 a.C.: ¡el humanoide extraterrestre había muerto en esa época!

Este descubrimiento incluso parece que haya dado origen al llamado “Project ISIS” (gestionado por los servicios secretos soviéticos, ¡el KGB!) sobre el que se ha escrito mucho; el excesivo utilizo de “condicionales” – necesario por la discreción mantenida alrededor de la entera cuestión – nos aconseja no profundizar aquí (ya que hemos decidido ocuparnos de lo que está escrito en el Antiguo Testamento).

Probablemente aquí tendríamos al cuerpo de uno de estos Elohìm– visitantes extraterrestres – muerto hace miles de años, exactamente como dice el Salmo 82 (83): es obigatorio utilizar el condicional porque la historia de este hallazgo es muy controvertida.

También podemos intentar la explicación de uno de los preceptos del judaísmo: el Elohìm que se hacia llamar Yahveh prohibía cualquier imagen que lo representase. Su aspecto estaba reservado a quien tenía con él una relación directa y no tenía que ser difundido de ninguna forma.

De hecho nos preguntamos:

• ¿Cómo habría reaccionado el pueblo de Israel si hubiera visto el rostro real de aquel individuo que lo guiaba y al que debían una devoción absoluta?

• ¿No se hubiera traumatizado?

Es posible que fuera mejor no arriesgarse y dejarlo todo envuelto en el misterio: era más fácil creer que les guìe un dios no más bien identificado que un individuo en carne y hueso, con unos rasgos que seguramente hubieran turbado aquel pueblo vagante por el desierto que estaba fatigosamente intentando adquirir una identidad…

The oscillation results in an apparent demotion of the constellations in the celestial sphere.

This happens because the imaginary line joining the ecliptic of spring and autumn equinoxes moves one degree every 71 years approximately.

Each of the twelve signs of the zodiac that form the entire 360° sky arc, covered a period of 2.160 years, corresponding to what astrology labeled as “Ages”: Age of Aries, Age of Taurus, and so on.

The complete cycle of 360° thus requires a little less than 26.000 years (2160 x 12). Hence, the difficult observations
and calculations.
This long period, called the “Great Year”, was known by many civilizations in various parts of the world – the Indus Valley, Egypt, Central America … – and still today scholars wonder why a nomadic people of herders and farmers should calculate its duration!

Might it be of any use to ANUNNAKI “gods” to calculate the orbital timing of their home planet, and to plan their space travels that were inevitably very long? Perhaps, the answer to many mysteries resides in accepting this possibility…

• individuos que conocían los secretos de la naturaleza, del cosmos, y que los trasmitían solo a sus fieles discípulos, creando de esta forma las castas de los reyes/gobernantes/sacerdotes (los “iniciados” al conocimiento de hecho… );

• individuos que viajaban por los cielos, recurriendo en muy poco tiempo distancias inimaginables para quien se movía andando;

• individuos que utilizaban unos intermediarios para gestionar su poder y comunicar con la humanidad a través de filtros (los “ángeles”…) que impidieran el contacto directo;

• individuos que habían creado al hombre utilizando técnicas de ingeniería genética de la que controlaban cada aspecto (y que hoy en día, en parte, también nosotros conocemos, ya que hemos conseguido fatigosamente reconquistar esos antiguos conocimientos).

Sintetizando, individuos provenientes de otros mundos, que la Biblia conocía muy bien, como también confirma la Iglesia (y nosotros hemos visto cómo los conocía bien…)

Lo que no se menciona bastante a menudo es que también se podía rechazar esta propuesta, el pueblo no estaba obligado: las obligaciones llegaron después de haber aceptado.

En fin, los judíos no imaginaban a Dios como una entidad trascendente y única y no veían la relación con él como algo ineluctable.

La entera historia de Israel está llena de traiciones, abandonos, cultos dedicados a otras divinidades también llamadas Elohìm, todas reales, todas presentes como el Elohìm que guiaba Israel y con el que había hecho este pacto de alianza: los judíos habrían sido sus servidores y él los habría ayudado a conquistar una tierra y a llegar a ser una nación.

El mismo Elohìm se define muchas veces celoso, pero nosotros nos preguntamos: ¿cómo es posible tener celos si no existen rivales en la relación?

El pacto supone un intercambio, un dar y recibir entre los dos contratantes y todo esto a expensas de los pueblos a los que no se le había incluido en esta alianza, muy concreta y muy humana.

El pacto preveía la exclusión de los extranjeros, hasta su destrucción si era necesaria para conseguir los objetivos del Elohìm y de los Israelitas: conquistar y ejercer el poder sobre un territorio.

Después de haber terminado la primera parte de la conquista de la tierra de Canaán, es el mismo Josué que le pide al pueblo que elija liberalmente si quiere continuar sirviendo al Elohìm que los había conducido hasta aquel momento o si prefiere seguir otros Elohìm, todos presentes, reales, concretos y posibles destinatarios de culto y servicio.

Solamente después de que el pueblo confirma su intención de seguir al Elohìm que se hacía llamar Yahveh, se vuelve a restablecer el pacto y se ha de cumplir con los compromisos para evitar consecuencias muy severas.

La elección es otra vez y verdaderamente libre: no caben dudas y no se necesita interpretar el texto que cuenta este episodio. Está todo explicado con mucha sencillez en el paso del Libro de Josué, en el capítulo 24 versículos 14-25.

Un relato extremamente significativo y poco conocido, que nos indica cómo la concreción material de lo que ocurría fuera muy diferente de la visión con la que, tradicionalmente, se interpreta la historia de Israel y de su relación con Dios.

We have formerly said that the need to define “spiritual” beings has led commentators to state, among other things, that when they eat and move they “only apparently” do so.

We’ll have a look in Chapter 18 of Genesis and judge this alleged “appearance”, along with other very unusual behaviours when attributed to “pure spirits”. Abraham is located near the oaks of Mamré, a Southern Palestine village, along the road linking the north of the country with Hebron; the patriarch is sitting underneath the shade of the tent because it is the hottest hour of the day, he looks up (18:2)…

And here are three men standing (before) his place. He saw them and ran to meet them at the entrance of the tent.

We therefore have a flushed Abraham who, while resting under the shadow of his dwelling, sees three people in front of him and runs to meet them: a very detailed description of a quite normal contextualized situation.

When Abraham recognizes the uniqueness of these individuals, he bows down to the ground, calling them “my Lord” (Adonì) and asking them to stop over. First, it is hard to imagine that anyone could tell a spiritual “vision” to stop before proceeding (18:3)! But there is much more…

He tells them he will bring some water to wash their feet, and invites them to lie down in the trees shade of the trees: clearly, these “divine” messengers must have seemed dirty, dusty and hot; they must have had, indeed, the aspect of individuals of flesh and blood who are walking in an almost desert area during the hottest hours of the day! Abraham knows that after resting one needs to eat, so he offers them some bread they can consume it before continuing. And what do these “spiritual beings” answer to an offer so obvious if made by human beings, but certainly absurd for immaterial entities? Let’s see (18:5):

You will do so as you said

A complete expression, saying in substance: “All right, go ahead”. Thus, oddly, these spirits appreciated the chance to freshen up their feet and eat before continuing their journey: they were in fact aimed towards Sodom (where shortly we will meet them again).

There were more than one, and this is also evident by the fact that at some point the group splits up: the supposed leader stops to talk with Abraham while the others continue (18.22) to the next destination.

After receiving the approval, Abraham orders the servant to prepare much more than what he had hastily offered: he tells him to prepare fresh bread, cook a calf, to be eaten with a drink of sour milk and fresh milk, and lays it all before them. In short, definitely a very long break, despite the preparation time: a stop is necessary to restore tired and hungry bodies.

In fact, the narrator states – with an attitude typical of modern “journalism” that describes an event in detail – that (18:8) “he stood by them, underneath the tree”…

And they ate

The scene recalls the Middle East typical nomadism: when an important guest arrives, they are offered all comforts and conveniences, and consume the meal in tranquillity as his prominent position requires.

The whole situation, the accurate detailed description, the timing of the events and particularly the fact that many of them are contemporary (while some things take place, some other things occur) are evidence of a very concrete, real and material event, including the act of eating. Something very difficult to conceive for angelic, immaterial and spiritual beings…

• ¿OVNIS en la Biblia?

«Imposible, pura fantasía, inventos sin ningún sentido…» contestan los que defienden la doctrina religiosa, los que no pueden aceptar realidades que minarían los fundamentos de sus creencias.

Y sin embargo las cosas podrían ser diferente de como han sido tradicionalmente presentadas…

En los capítulos anteriores, hemos analizado la figura de “dios” – o mejor dicho de los “dioses”… – así como se presenta en los textos sagrados; hemos visto las descripciones de los ángeles y su manera de actuar; hemos hablado del aspecto concreto de conceptos como “bendición” o “gloria de dios”… Ahora vamos a dar otro, “audaz” paso adelante y vamos a leer lo que han “visto” con sus propios ojos los profetas, o seas esos individuos que hablaban en nombre de Yahveh y que justo por esta razón tenían con él una relación privilegiada y conocían aspectos y manifestaciones que para otros eran desconocidas.

Asumamos que en las Sagradas Escrituras judías – como en otros textos sagrados de la entera historia religiosa del hombre – hay muchísimas descripciones de objetos voladores; descripciones detalladas; escritas obviamente con los conocimientos de las épocas en las que los textos han sido escritos. Por ejemplo, recordamos que los indios americanos – que no conocían ningún tipo de medio mecánico – definían los primeros trenes “caballos de hierro”; es decir que utilizaban sus instrumentos conceptuales y lingüísticos para describir lo que veían: un sistema de transporte de metal.

El mundo semítico del Medio Oriente estaba formado por poblaciones que vivían en ambientes agro-pastoriles constituidos por un sistema mixto de nomadismo estacional y sedentarismo más o menos definitivo; poblaciones que no poseían palabras específicas capaces de representar eficazmente fenómenos inusuales.

Para poder expresar lo que se alejaba de las normales experiencias, era necesario utilizar expresiones que pertenecían al lenguaje cotidiano.

Se podía hablar de todo lo que estaba relacionado con el vuelo, solo utilizando palabras que pertenecían al mundo de las “aves”; todo lo que cruzaba de prisa el aire podía ser descrito como un “viento” (ruàch: palabra cuya significación ha ido evolucionando hasta adquirir el valor de ¡”espíritu”!); todo lo que emitía alguna forma de energía visible se definía como “ardiente o fogoso”; los repentinos chorros o reflejos de luz no podían ser otra cosa sino “relámpagos”; cada estruendo, ruido, fragor producido por un cualquier medio se identificaba con el “trueno” o con el sonido producido por grandes cantidades de agua; cada instrumento de observación, tal vez con forma redondeada, era seguramente un “ojo” y siguiendo así…

Así que los librepensadores han de leer los pasos que siguen con este espíritu y siguiendo este razonamiento obvio y útil para comprender sin limitaciones previas y prejudiciales.

El astrólogo estadounidense Morris Jessup y el científico soviético Matest Agrest han sido entre los primeros en decir que las Sagradas Escrituras contenían episodios que se podían relacionar con presencias extraterrestres que se mueven con objetos voladores no identificados (OVNI) Esta circunstancia ha sido aceptada oficial y explícitamente por parte de algunos representantes de la Iglesia romana, como bien documentado en el párrafo “La Iglesia y los extraterrestres” que leeremos más adelante. A parte de lo que ya hemos visto en las páginas precedentes, entre los episodios que puedenm interesar para enriquecer nuestras hipótesis, vamos a mencionar los siguientes:

• La destrucción de Sodoma y Gomorra evoca de forma bastante evidente una explosión nuclear descrita por parte de un observador de esa época; la gran energía producida por la explosión habría transformado a la mujer de Lot en una estatua de sal (cfr. Gn 19,26). A este respecto, hay que decir que la traducción tradicional podría no ser correcta, porque la palabra melàch, que normalmente se traduce con “sal” llega de la raíz consonántica del verbo mlch, que indica ¡el acto de “disolverse”! Así que el versículo podría, de forma más realista, indicar que la mujer de Lot se ha literalmente “disuelto” después de haberse enfrentado con un calor muy fuerte producido por el evento destructivo.

• Los Elohìm se llevan al patriarca Enoc (Gn capítulo 5). En los libros apócrifos de Enoc, el relato es más preciso: llevan a Enoc en el espacio con carros voladores y encuentra a “ángeles” astronautas, que le enseñan la Tierra desde esas alturas, y a otros seres “blancos” parecidos a los hombres.

• Ya hemos hablado de la rara modalidad con la que los dos “ángeles” acogidos por Lot se defienden del asalto de los habitantes de Sodoma, deslumbrándoles.

• Y esto sin querer hablar de la columna de humo y fuego que durante el día aparece en forma de nube y que guía a Moisés y a los judíos durante el éxodo en el desierto de Sinaí.

• Y ¿qué son “el horno humeando y una antorcha de fuego” que Abraham ve volar por la noche (cfr. Gn 15,17)?

• Y, aún más, ¿qué es lo que quiere decirnos el profeta Isaías en los varios pasos de su libro que se refieren directamente o indirectamente a fenómenos parecidos a los que estamos asumiendo? (cfr. Is 2,2; 2,19; 4,5-6; 6,1-6; 8.8; 13,5; 14,12; 14,29-31; 19,1; 29,6; 30,6; 30,30-33; 31,4; 60,1- 3; 66,1; 66,15)

• Y ¿a qué se refiere Jeremías (cfr. Jer 4,13; 14,21; 17,12; 23,8; 23,19; 23,24; 25,32; 30,23; 48,40; 49,22; 51,1)?

• Los ejemplos posibles son verdaderamente muchos.

• El lector interesado podrá ir a leer los pasos indicados, nosotros hemos decidido examinar detalladamente algunas experiencias vividas por tres profetas: Ezequiel, Elías y Zacarías.

• Y esta decisión tiene tres razones principales:

La versión de Ezequiel es la más famosa y sin embargo siempre se olvida una parte muy significativa para la comprensión del evento;

La historia de Elías nunca está presentada en todos sus aspectos e implicaciones;

1) la visión de Zacarías está mencionada muy pocas veces y, de toda forma, nunca se evidencia un hecho que la relaciona con los coches voladores y con la tierra de los Guardianes, o sea Sumer, que en cambio es extremamente presente en el relato.

2) La historia de Elías nunca está presentada en todos sus aspectos e implicaciones;

Pero vayamos a analizar más detalladamente los hechos relativos a los tres profetas.

Not everyone knows that nowadays the Church has admitted as obvious the existence of extraterrestrials. Monsignor Corrado Balducci – Vatican spokesman for the extraterrestrials issue – claimed that they do exist and that the Bible undoubtedly knew about them.

During an interview 27 he has expressly stated:

Not to believe in UFOs and the presence of other living beings is a sin [sic!]. Their existence is not only proven by about a million witnesses, including those of many atheist scientists, but it is also confirmed by some passages of The Scripture that clarify some points about their presence [our italics].

He then added:

Psalm 23 reads: “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world [universe], and all who live in it”. Now, after citing the Earth, why should the psalmist also quote the universe and “all who live in it“? This means that the presence of other living beings is taken for granted. Even theology agrees with this thesis.

The exegete Father Aristide Serra, professor at the Marianum University of Rome, specified that “in the word universe”, written 66 times in the Bible, “the presence of other inhabited worlds is implicit and obvious”.

Some theologians highlight two more quotations recalling the same conviction:

• the first one is in the Psalm 95 (verse II): «Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad»;

• the second one is in John’s Gospel, where we can read (John 10:16): «I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also».

Cardinal Nicholas Cusano, fifteenth century philosopher and scientist, has said:

No star by which we are entitles us to exclude the existence of beings, though different from us.

Father Angelo Secchi, a Jesuit and astronomer who died in 1876, has written:

It is absurd to consider the world around us like a huge uninhabited desert and be searching for the meaning of our universe solely in our small town world.

When Padre Pio of Pietrelcina was asked if aliens really existed, he replied:

God’s omnipotence is not confined to the sole planet Earth. On other planets there are creatures and other beings who have not sinned like us and that pray to God.

Reverend Dessauer of Monaco, attending a conference of theologians and sociologists, said that the Earth comes under scrutiny by intelligent beings from other planets. Men are to prepare for the encounter with these beings.

The Jesuit astronomer José Luis Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory, explicitly states its firm belief in the existence of extra-terrestrial life and also says that one day we will meet the aliens as “brothers”. No coincidence, then, if in November 2009, at Casina Pio IV, during the “Astrobiology” week of studies promoted by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the eighth session was entitled “elsewhere intelligence and shadow life” and was about the assumptions of the existence of forms of sentient life in other worlds, and the possible presence of life forms other than ours inside our own world! Father Funes himself believes that the questions concerning the origin of life, and its existence elsewhere in the universe, are “very interesting” and worth serious consideration, and that “such questions have many philosophical and theological implications…”.

We are absolutely convinced of the reasonableness of Father Funes and Mgr. Balducci’s assertions and, compared to the only psalm quoted by the latter (Psalm 23), this book has provided much more extensive and documented evidence of the fact that the Bible really knew aliens!

In short, we do think that the encounter with the alien “brothers” predicted by the astronomer Funes as well as the Rev.

Dessauer has most likely already taken place and the Bible clearly accounts it.

So, also the Church – albeit quietly and without giving any emphasis to such statements… – has admitted that the Bible was familiar with extraterrestrials.

Desirable it would be that it now made the step forward, namely giving up the forcibly spiritualistic vision and trying to read the Bible for what it is: a history book (written, of course, using the cultural and linguistic categories of that time…)!

But, waiting for this to happen – and for theology to become a branch of astrophysics… – a question is compelling:

• If the God traditionally regarded as the source of Judeo-Christian religious thought in fact turns out to be nothing more than an individual (or rather a group of individuals of flesh and bones that have shaped man with their image and resemblance) where does the inspiration of the texts at the basis of the entire Western religion come from?

In other words:

• On what basis was Christianity actually established? In the attempt to find an answer to the question about the “inspiration”, we now examine what has been traditionally considered by far the most “inspired” texts of the whole Christianity, the mystical text par excellence, the one that more than any other appears pervaded by divine afflatus, the Christian writing closest to the agnostic spirituality: the Gospel of John. Before doing so, though, it is necessary to open a parenthesis useful to define the concept of “Hellenism” which we will often reference.
